A REMINDER THAT THE CHRISTMAS PRE MATCH LUNCH IS COMING SOON SO BOOK EARLY TO AVOID MISSING OUT!
Our U11s and 12s had a great start to the season attending the Defender Premiership Tournament at London Irish. The U11 tournament was run as a participation tournament with a special award for the team who showed the best rugby spirit, embodying all the core values of rugby, based on observations and feedback from referees.
Our U11s were the winners of the Fair Play Award so congratulations to Michael Fradgley’s team and I hope that you enjoy the Premiership Finals tickets that you won as a prize.
In the juniors, our U13s have started the season strongly and have a couple of new players who have been welcomed into the team. The U13s have a great team ethos and are starting to play rugby with strength and vigour with some ferocious tackling so head coach, Andy Boyle is hoping for a strong season. They are looking forward to a tour in Devon next year too.
The U16s have already had their tour having visited Dublin as a touring group. They played Suttonians RFC on the Sunday afternoon (won!), and ended up spending the rest of the day in their clubhouse. Played Boyne RFC on Tuesday evening under their floodlights on their fabulous 4G pitch (grass woven in through sand and plastic, incredibly surface - just like grass but soft underfoot and no mud at all...wow) and won that as well. Fabulous people, same rugby ethos. They were so generous and everyone had a really special time.
We provided club ties and a framed club jersey to both clubs, and we were told that both clubs were cleaned out of Guinness!
The girls are also starting the season strongly and as a growing group they cluster with Marlow and Beaconsfield very successfully. The U16s had a decisive win v Bisbury in the Bucks Invitational League. We also have 6 U16s who made it into the Bucks squad. Congrats to Elisabeth, Ella,Jamie, Olivia,Seren and Tillie!

EVENTS
The Oktoberfest was a memorable event with great music from our U16s in the form of Bad Neighbours and some interesting Austrian attire.
Events coming up:
The legendary Christmas Lunch December 10th. This will sell out quickly so reserve your place soon by contacting Andy Salter on andrew.salter4@gmail.com
The pre-match lunch will be followed by our first ever 'HWRUFC Stars in Their Eyes' so if you fancy yourself as Harry Styles, Lady Gaga or Perry Como then please contact me (Natalie) on secretary@hwrufc.com
Boxing Day is back after 2 years off. The big match followed by mince pies and singing in the clubhouse.
A turbulent October on the pitch with multiple injury problems and bookings not helping
availability culminating in a very difficult weekend at the end of October where we found ourselves unable to field 2 senior men's teams. Mike Kirby as DoR is facing many challenges for the season and this month's losing 4 out of the 5 games will mean that we will have to dig deep to pull ourselves up from our current position of 8th.
Our women face different challenges as 2 of the 7 teams in their league have pulled out so the fixtures are really sparse, the next being November 20th against Aylesbury . On the plus side, the women are top of their league currently and are aiming for promotion.
Please contact community@hwrufc.com to register!
Neil Weston is currently looking for sponsors for the club – we are looking for sponsors for our post protectors, cross bars and we are looking to get a new scoreboard visible from the new pitch.
We are in the process of having our new balcony built and we are selling 'commemoration bricks' with your/ your family name on there. Two sizes are available.
Please do contact Neil if you think that your business can help in any way: commercial.manager@hwrufc.com.
We also have the 200 Club which also gives you a chance to win great cash prizes whilst you support your club!
